What is SaaS mode in Agent Studio?#
SaaS mode turns your agency into a software company: clients subscribe to plans you design, and you keep the revenue. GoHighLevel calls this SaaS mode; in Agent Studio it lives on Agency → Plans.
- Saving a paid plan creates its product and recurring price in your CRM payments.
- Putting a client on a plan emails them a plan invoice. Paying it starts a Stripe subscription on your account, and renewals record themselves.
- Usage rebilling invoices each client once a month for what they sent and the AI they used.
How do I create a plan?#
Connect Stripe in CRM payments, then press New plan on Agency → Plans. A plan takes about two minutes to set up.
Launch your first plan
Step 1: Connect your Stripe account
Plans bill through the payments connection in your CRM, so the money lands in your own Stripe.Open PaymentsStep 3: Price and package it
Set Plan name, Description, Price (USD), Monthly or Yearly, trial days, and tick Areas this plan opens.Step 4: Set caps and rebilling
Fill Caps for contacts, team members and phone numbers (blank means no cap), then Usage rebilling: per text, per email, Rebill AI usage and AI markup (%).Step 5: Save and add the welcome workflow
Press Save plan, then Add welcome workflow under Starter workflows so every new subscriber gets a welcome email and a kick-off task.
| Setting | What it controls |
|---|---|
| Price (USD), Monthly or Yearly | What the client pays you each period. A $0 plan sends no invoices. |
| Trial days | How long a client uses the plan before the first charge |
| Run the trial in Stripe | The client adds a card on day one and Stripe charges when the trial ends |
| Areas this plan opens | Which CRM areas the client's account shows. Settings and Team are always on. |
| Caps | Most contacts, team members and phone numbers the account holds |
| Per text and per email (cents) | What you charge for each message the client sends |
| Rebill AI usage and AI markup (%) | AI the client uses, billed at cost plus your markup |
| Self-serve upgrade | Clients move up to this plan themselves from Your plan |
How do I put a client on a plan?#
Press Plan and usage on the client's card in Agency → Sub-accounts, pick the plan and enter the billing email. The plan invoice goes out by email, or the trial starts first if the plan has one.
- Tick skip trial to bill a returning client at once.
- The dialog shows the client's current plan, the last payment failure and twelve months of usage.
- Choose No plan to take a client off billing. Their account opens every area again.
How does usage rebilling work?#
Every text and email a client account sends is counted, and AI work (Conversation AI, review replies and social copy) is recorded at cost. When the month closes, Agent Studio prices the usage on the plan's rates and emails the client a usage invoice from your payments.
texts x per-text rate
+ emails x per-email rate
+ AI cost x (1 + AI markup %)
= usage invoice totalA month that totals under the $0.50 card minimum carries its counts into the next month's invoice, so every message is eventually billed. Your own Agent Studio account with Suede AI stays as it is; rebilling recovers that cost from the client with your margin on top.
What does a client see on their plan?#
A client sees only the areas their plan opens, across the menu, pages and public pages. Your agency keeps full access inside every client account, so you configure anything before or after a plan change.
- When a plan leaves out an area, its public pages for that area go offline too: forms and sites, booking pages, pay pages, review pages, the member portal and the affiliate portal.
- A plan without Automations holds the account's automations until the client moves up.
- Hitting a cap stops the next contact, invite or number with a clear message, and your CRM fires Sub-account reached a plan limit once a day per cap. That is your upsell moment.
- Inside their account, Your plan shows the plan, usage against each cap, any open plan invoice and the self-serve plans they upgrade to with one press of Upgrade.
Which SaaS events can I automate?#
Every billing moment is a workflow trigger in your agency CRM, with the client's billing contact attached, so dunning, upsells and thank-yous run without you.
| Trigger or step | Use it to |
|---|---|
| Sub-account plan assigned | Send the welcome and book the kick-off |
| Sub-account upgraded its plan | Thank the client and set up the new areas |
| Sub-account plan payment failed | Ask for a new card, wait, then follow up |
| Sub-account plan payment recovered | Close the dunning task |
| Sub-account usage invoiced | Send a usage summary with the invoice |
| Sub-account Plan step | Read the plan, caps and usage to branch, or extend a trial |
| Manage Sub-account step | Change a plan or pause an account |
Plans attach to client sub-accounts and bill through your own Stripe once you connect payments.
