How do I set up rank tracking?#
Open Rank tracking in your SEO project and press New tracker. One tracker covers one domain in one market, with as many as 1,000 keywords.
Create a rank tracker
Step 1: Open your SEO project
Choose the project, then Rank tracking under Your site.Open SEO projectsStep 2: Set the domain and market
Domain to track defaults to the project's site. Add a City or area for local rankings.Step 3: Choose devices and depth
Pick Desktop and mobile, Desktop or Mobile, and how deep to look: the top 10 to the top 100 results per keyword.Step 4: Add keywords
Paste one per line, or press Suggest keywords to pull ideas for the domain.Step 5: Create and check
Press Create tracker, then Check now. The check shows its price and a spending limit first, and it never runs past that limit.
How often can I check my rankings?#
As often as your strategy needs. Set How often to Manual, Daily, Weekly or Monthly, pick the day and a time in UTC, and checks run on their own. Choose Queued (lowest price) to pay less or Live (immediate) for positions right away, and set a Spending limit per check. The schedule shows the monthly cost of the cadence you pick, and a scheduled check that would go over your limit is skipped with the reason shown.
What does a rank tracker show me?#
Each tracker opens on Positions: every keyword's current rank, the change since the point you choose, the ranking page and the SERP features on the results page.
| View | What you see |
|---|---|
| Positions | Current rank per keyword and device, compared with the previous check or 1, 7, 30 or 90 days back. |
| Ranking page | Which URL Google shows, so you catch the wrong page ranking for a keyword. |
| SERP features | Featured snippets, local packs and other features on the results page. |
| Rank ladder | Positions over time, drawn after the second check. |
| Positions by check date | The full history in one table. |
| Recent checks | Every check with its date and cost. |
Pin the keywords that matter most so they stay on top. Remove a keyword and its history stays. Every row links to the live Google results so you can see the page yourself.
How do I get a weekly rankings report?#
Run the SEO Studio: Weekly Rank Watch template. Every Monday it checks your keywords on desktop and mobile, compares them with seven days ago and saves a report to your project: what moved up or down, what entered or left page one, the biggest moves and a watch list of the keywords closest to page one.
Put your rankings report on autopilot
Open Weekly Rank Watch, add your domain and keywords, and test it with a dry run before it goes live.
Can I export rankings, and what does a check cost?#
Export the latest positions as CSV or JSON and the full history as CSV, ready for a spreadsheet or a client deck. A tracker costs nothing until it checks. Each check shows its price first and confirms it against your spending limit, and one check runs at a time, so a double click never bills twice.
