Register for A2P 10DLC so your business texts get delivered

Quick answer

Agent Studio registers your business for A2P 10DLC from CRM → Settings → Phone. You save your brand (legal name, business type, tax id, website), then a messaging campaign with what you send and a sample text, and press Submit to carriers. Status moves from Draft to Approved on the same panel, and a workflow fires on every change.

What you'll have

  • Your brand and messaging campaign saved and submitted to US carriers
  • Every number on the account sending under one approved campaign
  • A workflow that tells your team the moment carriers approve or reject

What is A2P 10DLC and why does my business need it?#

A2P 10DLC is the US carrier program that lets a business send texts from ordinary 10-digit local numbers. Carriers deliver business texts from local numbers once two things are on file: the brand (who you are) and the campaign (what you send and why). Register both and your appointment reminders, missed-call text-backs and AI follow-ups reach phones instead of a carrier filter.

How do I register my brand and campaign in Agent Studio?#

You fill two short forms on the A2P 10DLC registration panel and submit. The brand form comes first; once a brand is saved, the panel switches to the campaign form.

Register for A2P 10DLC

0 of 6 done

  1. Step 1: Open Phone settings

Go to CRM → Settings → Phone and scroll to A2P 10DLC registration. Add at least one number first in the Numbers panel so the campaign has something to send from.
    Open Phone settings
  2. Step 2: Save your brand

Enter your Legal business name exactly as it appears on your tax records, choose a Business type, add your EIN or tax id and Website, then press Save brand.
  3. Step 3: Describe your campaign

Pick a Use, write What you send in one plain sentence, and add a Sample message that names your business and ends with opt-out wording, such as Reply STOP to opt out. Press Save campaign.
  4. Step 4: Submit to carriers

Press Submit to carriers on the brand row, then on the campaign row. Each row shows its status pill so you see where it stands.
  5. Step 5: Check status

Press Check status on a live-submitted row to pull the latest carrier decision and any reviewer note.
  6. Step 6: Alert your team on changes

Build a workflow on the A2P registration status changed trigger to text or email you the moment the status moves.

Which campaign use case should I pick?#

Pick the use that matches what most of your texts do. When you send reminders, replies and the occasional offer from the same numbers, mixed covers it.

How do dry run and live submission work?#

Numbers, carrier registration and dialer calls run through your Twilio account. Until you tick Submit A2P 10DLC registrations to the carriers in the Provider panel, a submission is a dry run: you see the full flow and a Dry run pill, and nothing goes to the carriers. Switch it on when your details are final.

Questions buyers ask#

How long does A2P 10DLC approval take?

Carriers set the review time. Agent Studio shows In carrier review while it is open and fires the A2P registration status changed trigger the moment it moves, so nobody has to keep checking.

Do I need A2P 10DLC if I only text my own customers?

Yes. US carriers ask every business sending from local 10-digit numbers to register, whatever the volume. Registering keeps reminders and text-backs out of carrier filters.

Why was my A2P campaign rejected?

The usual reasons are a legal name that does not match tax records, a website that does not identify the business, or sample messages without opt-out wording. Read the note on the row, fix that field, and press Submit to carriers again.

What does A2P registration cost?

The carriers set their registration fees and bill them through your Twilio account when you submit live. Dry-run submissions cost nothing. See pricing for Agent Studio plans.

Does one campaign cover all my numbers?

Yes. When you save a campaign, Agent Studio attaches every number already on the account to it, so reminders and follow-ups send from any of them under the same approval.
