How does the Wait step work?#
Wait pauses the branch it sits on, then carries on. It has two modes, and test runs skip the wait so you see the whole path in seconds.
| Setting | What to enter | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Wait: For a set time | Amount and Unit (minutes, hours, days, weeks) | 2 days after a quote goes out |
| Wait: Until a date and time | Until, an ISO date and time or a field | {{in.appointment.startAt}} |
How does the Branch step make an if/else decision?#
Branch reads one Field from the value the step before it passed along and fires its true or false output. Fill Equals (optional) to compare against a value, such as hot, or leave it blank and tick Require truthy to go true whenever the field has a value.
| Goal | Field | Equals |
|---|---|---|
| Stop follow-ups once they book | booked | true |
| Call hot leads first | label | "hot" |
| Route by channel | channel | "sms" |

Can a Branch act on an AI decision?#
Yes. Put an AI step that labels a lead hot, warm or cold ahead of the Branch, then branch on label equals hot. Agent Studio's lead-scoring starter does exactly this: it tags the contact with its label and opens a call-within-the-hour task for hot leads.
