Send email campaigns and text broadcasts that get opened

Quick answer

Agent Studio sends email campaigns and text broadcasts from Marketing → Campaigns to every contact or to a tag and smart-list audience. Build the email with drag-and-drop blocks, A/B test two subject lines, schedule the send, and watch delivered, opened, clicked and unsubscribed numbers fill in for every recipient and every link.

What you'll have

  • An email campaign or text broadcast aimed at exactly the contacts who should get it.
  • A subject line test that picks the winner for you and sends it to everyone else.
  • A live report of who opened, who clicked which link, and who bounced or unsubscribed.

How do I send an email campaign in Agent Studio?#

Open Marketing, press New email campaign, pick who gets it, write it, and press Send now or Schedule. The whole run takes a few minutes once your sending connection is in place.

Your first campaign

0 of 6 done

  1. Step 1: Connect your sender

In CRM settings, choose your email connection (your Resend account) and, for texts, your Twilio connection. Add the reply-to and the mailing address printed in every footer.
    Open CRM settings
  2. Step 2: Start a campaign

On the Campaigns tab press New email campaign or New text broadcast and give it a name only your team sees.
    Open Campaigns
  3. Step 3: Choose who gets it

Under Who gets it, send to everyone with an email address or narrow it with tags and a saved smart list. Excluded tags always win.
  4. Step 4: Write it or start from a template

Pick a saved template or choose Write it here. Fill the Subject line and Preview text, then drop in merge fields like {{contact.firstName|there}}.
    Open Templates
  5. Step 5: Send yourself a test

Press Send test to me and check it on your phone and your desktop inbox before anyone else sees it.
  6. Step 6: Send or schedule

Choose Send now or Schedule with a date and time in your account's time zone. A scheduled campaign goes out on its own at that minute.

Who receives my campaign?#

Exactly the contacts your audience rule picks, minus anyone who opted out. Contacts marked do-not-disturb for that channel are skipped automatically, and a team member limited to their own contacts only ever reaches the contacts assigned to them.

How does the A/B subject line test work?#

Turn on A/B subject test, write Subject B, and Agent Studio sends both versions to a test group, waits, then sends the winning subject to everyone else.

  • Test group (% of the audience): 5 to 50 percent, split evenly between subject A and subject B.
  • Winner by: open rate or click rate. Pick click rate when the email exists to drive a booking or a purchase.
  • Wait before choosing (hours): 1 to 72 hours. Four hours is the default and suits most lists.
  • The campaign report shows Subject test results side by side: sent, opened and clicked for each subject.

How do text broadcasts work?#

A text broadcast sends one SMS of up to 1,600 characters through your Twilio number to every contact with a phone number in the audience. The first message to a contact carries "Reply STOP to opt out." when your text leaves it out, and texts never go out from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. in your account's time zone. A broadcast that reaches quiet hours waits and picks up again in the morning.

How fast does a campaign send, and can I stop it?#

Campaigns send at a steady pace you set: 120 emails a minute and 30 texts a minute by default, up to 600 a minute. A steady pace protects your sender reputation and keeps your phone lines free when replies come in.

  • Pause and Resume a campaign mid-send from its report. Cancel stops it for good.
  • Duplicate any campaign to resend it to a new audience or try a new subject.
  • The content freezes the moment sending starts, so editing the template afterward never changes a send in progress.

What does the campaign report show?#

Each campaign opens to Results: sent, delivered, opened, clicked, unsubscribed and bounced, plus Clicks per link with total clicks and the number of people behind them. The Recipients list is searchable, so you can see exactly what happened for one contact.

Where each number comes from
NumberSource
Opened and clickedOpen and click tracking on every campaign email
Delivered, bounced and spam complaintsThe Resend webhook you add on Marketing → Settings
UnsubscribedThe unsubscribe link in every footer
Per-link clicksEvery tracked link in the email, in the order it appears

Campaign activity also starts workflows. Use the triggers Email opened, Email link clicked and Campaign finished sending in CRM automations to text a hot lead or hand them to a salesperson the minute they click.

Questions buyers ask#

Can I schedule an email campaign for a specific date and time?

Yes. Choose Schedule, pick the date and time, and the campaign goes out at that minute in your account's time zone. Press Back to draft to change it before it sends.

Can I send a test email before the campaign goes out?

Yes. Send test to me delivers the real email, merge fields filled, to your own inbox. The editor's preview also shows it at desktop and phone width.

Are unsubscribes handled for me?

Yes. Every campaign email carries an unsubscribe link and your mailing address in the footer, and every text broadcast carries the STOP line on the first message. Contacts who opt out drop out of future campaigns automatically.

Will a text broadcast wake my customers up at night?

No. Texts hold from 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. in your account's time zone and resume in the morning, even in the middle of a large broadcast.

Which email service sends my campaigns?

Your own Resend account, connected in CRM settings. Mail goes out from your domain and your sender name, so replies land with you and your reputation stays yours.

Can a workflow send a campaign email to one contact?

Yes. Templates you build for campaigns also send from workflows, so a welcome email, a reminder or a win-back message reuses the same design. See CRM automations.
